She planned our beach ceremony on the Kona side of the Big Island with barely five days’ notice, and somehow made the entire experience feel effortless, calm, intimate, and incredibly special from beginning to end. Throughout the process, Becky was warm, responsive, communicative, efficient, capable, supportive, and endlessly reassuring. From our very first conversations, she made us feel less like clients and more like family. She immediately put us at ease and took all of the stress and uncertainty out of planning a wedding on such short notice. To the beach area she suggested and secured to the rest of the recommendations for dinner, photographer, hair/makeup and even a personal in house chef, everything was top notch! She made it so easy for us and we were able to really enjoy our day and not worry about the details. An added bonus was her husband, Matt, using our cell phones to take pictures so we didn’t have to wait for the professional ones and our guests didn’t have to be on photo duty! "Just perfect...My husband and I renewed our vows with Becky at Simple Kona Beach Weddings in July 2025. I had originally looked into doing it all myself (researching beaches and completing paper work for the appropriate beach permits, finding someone qualified to perform the ceremony, finding a place for a celebration afterwards etc.) I quickly realised that this was a very overwhelming task, especially because we were planning it from the UK and the time difference is 12 hours! Becky totally took the stress out of this for me, so that I could concentrate on all the nice things to do with our vow renewal.

During our initial video chat in February she really took the time to get to know us and we talked about the reasons we wanted to renew our vows along all of the elements we hoped to include. She then created a totally individual ceremony for us. We had some pretty specific requirements which were all incorporated on the day as well as all of the traditional Hawaiian elements which were woven together so perfectly. In the lead up to the ceremony, we were very unsure as to the amount of people that would be there on the day and we were also undecided on some things until a few days before, but there was never any pressure from Becky to make these decisions on the spot. She understood our situation and made the whole process very easy, relaxed and simple. The ceremony itself was very special and the location that was suggested was stunning.

The words Becky had written for the ceremony were beautiful and Matt (Becky’s husband) took A LOT of photos on my phone. Many of them looked really professional. This allowed our guests just to enjoy themselves rather than having the pressure to get the perfect picture. Becky and Matt are both very warm and friendly people and we felt at ease with them immediately when we met them in person just before the ceremony. (Becky did say she would be willing to meet us the day before if we wanted to but we had enough confidence in her from previous email and phone interactions that all would be okay.)

They have both lived on the Island for a long time and they know all the best spots. Becky not only planned and conducted our vow renewal, she also played a big part in organising our post renewal celebration. She made excellent recommendations based on our budget and the kind of atmosphere we were looking for. She emailed vendors for us to make introductions and any question we asked, she had an answer for. And we certainly had a lot of questions! Becky also made lots of other recommendations for trips we should consider, places we should visit on The Big Island and the best ways to organise excursions. A lot of these trips made our visit to the Big Island extra special.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Simple Kona Beach Weddings for anyone considering renewing their wedding vows in Hawaii. It was a wonderful celebration of love in the perfect location and we had an incredible holiday. "Becky was the most thoughtful, helpful, kindest person that we could have hoped for. She helped us get the wedding organized, coordinated and logistically arranged with minimum fuss and stress on our part. Becky knows everyone in Kona. She referred a great photographer (Hannah is SO talented), make up and hair people (shoutout to indigo grace artistry), the Ukelele player (Matthew Hanato even learned some new songs for us- he was amazing), the wedding license, and she referred us to a great reception and rehearsal venue (Fairmont Orchid- the luau and Browns). The people in Hawaii are on island time and as such can be slow to respond/ a bit disorganized (I’m a NYer and that is maddening for someone like me). Becky made sure everything was locked down on our schedule. Becky made sure every aspect of our wedding was planned and executed to the last detail. I cannot stress enough how much easier and less worrisome this made our entire experience (see what I did there?). When Kona businesses were slow to respond to our questions and reservations, we had but to mention it to Becky and we received a call immediately from the slow-to-respond parties. Becky is very helpful, detail oriented and most importantly, in tune to the vision that we had. Becky made sure every aspect of our wedding was planned and executed perfectly. She was able to uncover our blue sky vision for the wedding and enhance it with her experience and expertise. Becky likes to officiate the weddings and she did an amazing job of that too. Her ceremony included traditional Hawaiian elements and was very moving. 6/5 stars"

"A dream come true!!!

When my husband and I married 23.5 years ago, we just had a ceremony. We were in Hawaii to celebrate our daughter's graduation and Becky helped me plan the most wonderful surprise vow renewal. She took care of all the details on the island and was very responsive on any questions. Her recommendations were spot on. I had a conference call with her as the first step. She took the time to understand us and what I envisioned and then planned everything for us, but always getting feedback to make sure the choices aligned with what I wanted/envisioned. The results were beyond all expectations!!! She even helped coordinate a cake to be made at our dinner location after the event. Her personality and experience and professionalism will give you the ceremony you have always dreamed of. Matt was awesome at capturing all the moments of the ceremony and after. "Our Vow Renewal We were to be married in Kona in 2014 on the Beach. A hurricane had different ideas, and we had to move inside. When our 10th anniversary came around, we reached out to Becky to renew our vows on the beach. She handled every detail with such professionalism and empathy for our desire to have that beach experience.
